What should I do before using the Beautiful Perfect Grind for the first time?

Before first use, wash the removable water reservoir, gold-tone filter, and drip tray in warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Then insert the charcoal filter into its holder and place it in the water reservoir, fill the reservoir with fresh cold water up to the MAX line, and perform an initial rinse cycle by selecting the largest brew size (16 oz) and pressing Brew to discard the hot water.
