What should I do before running the self-cleaning cycle?

Remove the broiler pan, all oven racks, other utensils, and excess soft spillage. Hand clean the oven door edge, window, oven front frame and oven cavity edges using a soapy sponge or plastic scrubber. Wipe up large overspills and grease with paper towels. Be sure the light is turned off and the bulb and glass cover are in place.
