How often should I change the water filter, and how do I know when it needs replacing?

The water filter should be changed every 6 months. You should also change it if 'Clean Filter' lights up on the display, if water output has visibly reduced, or if ice cube production has visibly reduced. After installing a new filter, discard the ice cubes produced during the first 24 hours and dispense water for 5 minutes and discard it. (Page 20)
