How does Super Freezing work, and when should I use it?

Super Freezing cools the freezer compartment as cold as possible and should be switched on 1 to 2 hours before placing food weighing 4.4 lbs (2 kg) or more into the freezer compartment. It can also be used to accelerate ice cube production. After approximately 8 hours, the appliance automatically switches back to normal operation, and increased noise may occur while Super Freezing is active. (Page 14)
