What does the Sanitized indicator light mean?

When the 'Sanitized' indicator light illuminates on the control panel (or the Sanitized symbol appears on models with a display), it means that the dishware and kitchenware that were just washed have been sanitized according to the requirements of the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF). However, if your household water supply is too hot, your dishwasher's heating time may be reduced, and the Sanitized indicator may not illuminate. (Page 19)
