What materials should not be washed in the dishwasher?

Do not wash acrylic items (crazing may occur), adhesive-joined pieces (adhesives may loosen), bone-handled utensils (handles may separate), iron (will rust), pewter/brass/bronze (will tarnish), tin (will stain), or wooden items including bowls and utensils with wooden handles (can crack, warp, and lose finish). Also do not wash plastic items unless they are marked 'dishwasher safe.' (Page 7)
