How do I cancel a wash cycle that is already running?

Open the dishwasher door just far enough to expose the control panel, being careful of hot water that may splash out. Press and hold the Start button until the Active LED goes out. Close the door and wait about 1 minute until the unit beeps, indicating it is done draining. Then open the door and press the On/Off button to turn off the unit and start a new cycle if desired.
