What items should not be washed in the dishwasher?

Do not wash wooden bowls or utensils, items with wooden handles, bone-handled utensils, iron, pewter, brass, bronze, tin, acrylic items, or adhesive-joined pieces. Hand wash these items immediately after use and dry them thoroughly, as iron will rust, pewter/brass/bronze will tarnish, and tin will stain.
