What should I do to prepare the cooktop before using it for the very first time?

Remove all packing materials and literature from the cooktop surface, then wipe it with a clean, damp sponge and dry it while cool. Next, apply the Cooktop Cleaning Creme® packaged with the cooktop and buff with a clean cloth. There may be a slight odor during the first several uses, which is normal and will disappear.
