What is the correct way to load knives and sharp utensils?

Load knives and other sharp utensils with their handles UP in the silverware basket to reduce the risk of cut-type injuries. When using the third rack, arrange cutlery as illustrated in the manual. Never load sharp items with their edges facing up, as this creates a serious injury hazard.
