How often should I clean the water inlet strainers, and how is it done?

Cleaning is recommended every 6 months to reduce chances of valve blockage, especially in hard water areas. To clean, first de-pressurize the hoses by turning off the water tap, starting a wash cycle briefly, then turning the selector to Off. Remove the hose from the tap and the back of the washer, pull the strainer out with narrow pliers, rinse under running water, and reconnect. (Page 31)
