How do I know when the machine needs a cleaning cycle, and how do I run one?

The machine will detect when 200 extractions have been carried out since the last cleaning cycle, indicated by the 1 CUP and 2 CUP buttons alternately flashing. To run the cycle, insert the cleaning disc and a cleaning tablet into the portafilter, lock it into the group head, fill the water tank to MAX, then press and hold the 1 CUP and 2 CUP buttons for 5 seconds to enter cleaning mode. Press either cup button to begin, and the machine will return to ready mode once complete. (Page 15)
