What should I do if my Breville Barista Express does not heat up?

Check that the STEAM/HOT WATER dial is in the STANDBY position, allow time for the machine to reach operating temperature (the POWER button light will stop flashing and all button lights on the control panel will illuminate when ready), ensure the water tank is filled with water and fully inserted into place, and if necessary refer to descaling instructions (page 25).
