How often should I replace the water filter, and how do I do it?

The water filter should be replaced every two months, or more frequently if you live in a hard water area. Soak the new filter in water for 5 minutes, rinse under cold running water, wash the filter holder, insert the new filter into the holder, set the Date Dial 2 months ahead, and push the assembled holder into the water tank until it locks into place.
