When the 'dESC' message scrolls across the screen, indicating excessive mineral build-up, pour approximately 20oz of white vinegar into the water tank until it displays '4 CUPS', then add cold water until it displays '12 CUPS'. Press and hold the STRENGTH button for 5 seconds to begin descaling. Allow approximately 30-40 minutes to complete the process. After descaling finishes, run two rinse cycles with plain water.
