When should I use the manual feed slot instead of the paper tray?
Use the manual feed slot when printing on plain paper, thin paper, recycled paper, bond paper, thick paper, labels, or envelopes. For labels and envelopes, you should open the back cover (face up output tray) before printing to allow the printed paper to exit properly.
