What precautions should I take with the power cord?

Do not allow the power cord to be cut, damaged, modified, forcefully bent, pulled, twisted, or bundled. Do not place heavy objects on the cord or subject it to heat. Make sure the plugs are firmly inserted into the electrical outlet. If the cord or plug is damaged, take the machine to an authorized Brother Service Center for repairs before continuing use.
