How does the Stop/Start system work on the Buick Enclave?

The Stop/Start system will automatically shut off the engine to help conserve fuel when the brakes are applied and the vehicle is at a complete stop; the tachometer will display AUTO STOP when this occurs. The engine will restart when the brake pedal is released or the accelerator pedal is pressed. The vehicle has components specifically designed for the increased number of starts that this system requires. (Page 8)
