How do I set up the charger before connecting it to my battery?

Place the charger on a stable, dry surface away from flammable materials in a well-ventilated area. Then set the Battery Type Switch to the appropriate setting (Regular or AGM) and select your desired Amperage Setting before connecting the clamps.
