What does it mean if the red light next to the OnStar buttons is illuminated?

If the light next to the OnStar buttons is red, the system may not be functioning properly, and you should press the blue OnStar button and request a vehicle diagnostic. If the light appears clear with no light showing, your OnStar subscription has expired and all services have been deactivated; press the blue button to confirm whether the OnStar equipment is still active.
