How do I replace the batteries in the laser guide?

First, unplug your miter saw. Remove the locking screw on the battery cover with a Phillips screwdriver and open the cover. Insert two AAA batteries as shown in the diagram, or replace old batteries with new AAA batteries. Put the battery cover back on, replace the locking screw, and tighten it securely.
