How do I safely transport or store the miter saw?

Always lock the cutting head in the down position when transporting or storing the miter saw. To do this, push the switch handle down to its lowest position, pull the hold-down latch out of the short slot and turn 90° to insert it into the long slot. Never carry the miter saw by the switch handle, cutting arm, or miter handle — always use the designated carrying handle. (Page 12)
