What causes the blade to bind, jam, or burn the wood, and how do I fix it?

Blade binding, jamming, or burning wood can be caused by improper operation, a dull or warped blade, an improper blade size, or the wood moving during the cut. Corrective actions include reviewing the Basic Saw Operation section, replacing or sharpening the blade, replacing with the correct 10-inch diameter blade, or using a hold-down clamp to secure the workpiece to the table.
