What should I do before using the cappuccino maker for the first time?

Place a container under the machine and deliver a small amount of water by rotating the steam dial to the 'I' position for a few seconds. Then turn the dial to the '0' position to stop the flow of hot water and wait a few minutes for the machine to cool down. (Page 9)
