that both loops of harness are securely threaded onto splitter plate (diagram 1). Pull strap end in front of seat to tighten harness. Lift lever at lower front of seat and pull on shoulder straps to loosen. A load-limiting "SafeStop" attachment for harness is designed to absorb energy and reduce impact to a smaller forward-facing child. SafeStop attachment is included with the car seat in the box


Angle adjustment: Two mechanisms affect recline: there is a detachable base, as well as an adjustable bottom with two positions. Detachable base (and anti-rebound bar, see Other section) is required for rear-facing installation and may not be used forward-facing. To attach base for rearfacing installation, align lower hooks with holes and push top of base in until hearing an audible “click” (diagram 5a). To remove base for forwardfacing, press release buttons and pull top of base forward (diagram 5b). When seat is used forward-facing with harness, the adjustable bottom must be lowered (diagram 6a) for child over 25 lbs. To change positions,

lift the bottom bar up and over the inside channel toward the seat bottom to release (diagram 6b). Make sure seat bottom is locked into position. Do not use adjustable bottom in booster mode.

Belt Path: If LATCH is not in use, store connectors in locations provided at top rear of shell (diagram 7). May NOT be installed with inflatable safety belts.

Rear-facing: Vehicle belt is routed under child’s legs through slots on each side of shell (diagram 8). Buckle, lock retractor, tighten belt.

Forward-facing: Vehicle belt is through slots behind seat (diagram 9). Do not use detachable base when forward facing. Always use SafeStop for forward-facing child 22-40 lbs. NOTE: For forward-facing installations using lap belt only with no top tether, the Lap Belt Cushion MUST be used (diagram 10) and harness must be routed through top slots. See Other section on how to install the Lap Belt Cushion.

Without Harness: Remove harness and crotch strap (see Other section for instructions), use vehicle lap-shoulder belt on child. Shoulders must be at 4th harness slot (diagram 11). Route shoulder belt over seat and between inside of car seat shell and belt guide in headrest (diagram 12). The lap belt goes under the side nubs. DO NOT use adjustable bottom in booster mode.

LATCH: One LATCH strap with a single adjuster is located on back of restraint. For rear-facing installation, move LATCH strap into rear-facing belt path after attaching base and anti-rebound bar (see Other section for installation of anti-rebound bar). Discontinue use of lower anchors when rear-facing child reaches 35 lbs. For forward-facing installation, move LATCH strap to

forward-facing belt path (no base, no anti-rebound bar, but adjustable bottom lowered if child over 25 lbs.). Discontinue use of lower anchors when forward-facing child reaches 40 lbs. Always use SafeStop for forward-facing LATCH installations with child 22 - 40 lbs. Lower connectors may be used in booster mode. Tether: Yes, for forward-facing use. Tether must be attached to a vehicle manufacturer’s specified tether anchor point. Other: When restraint is used rear-facing, top of child’s head must be 1.5 inches below car seat shell.

Headrest: When using lowest harness slots, position headrest level with top of the seat. For top 4 harness slots position lower edge of headrest about level with the jaw. To adjust headrest, press lever on headrest and slide up or down. Listen for “click” to confirm headrest is locked.

Lap Belt Cushion: Only use for harnessed forward-facing installations with lap belt only and no top tether available. MUST use 5th harness slot when using the lap belt cushion (diagram 13). To install, remove crotch buckle pad, unclip seat cover and lift up (diagram 14), place lap belt cushion on seat and slide buckle through slot that matches slot position used on seat, then flip down seat cover, slide buckle through, reinstall buckle pad (diagram 15). Crotch buckle with longer strap is available by calling Customer Care.

To unfold, place restraint on its back, unfasten red carry strap from restraint bottom, and rotate bottom until seat clicks and locks into place. Tuck and store red carry strap behind cover.

To fold, release lever (diagram 16) and secure with red strap. Harness removal: Remove straps from splitter plate. Pull harness

straps through to the front and remove the chest clip and harness pads from each strap. Use a standard screwdriver to remove access panel on bottom side of seat (diagram 17). Remove harness straps from seat and replace panel.

optional, but recommended for a better fit for smaller infants (diagram 18). Side wings: can be adjusted outward for comfort (diagram 19). Cup holder: Locate cup holder icon on seat cover on either side, insert

cupholder into the slot (diagram 20), push down and twist to firmly lock in place (diagram 21).

Anti-rebound bar: ALWAYS use anti-rebound bar on rear-facing installs. Do not use forward-facing. To install, place anti-rebound bar in slots on front of seat (diagram 22) and push in until audible “click” can be heard. Pull up on bar to confirm proper engagement. To remove, press release buttons on outside of seat (diagram 23) and pull anti-rebound bar out.

Aircraft: On aircraft, seat may be used rear-facing and forward-facing in harness mode only. For rear-facing installation on aircraft, adjust seat belt buckle to its shortest length to ensure buckle is accessible for release, then ask flight attendant for seat belt extender to install seat.

Choose a suitable location for this child restraint in your vehicle. REVIEW VEHICLE SEATING LOCATIONS.

Install this child restraint tightly in your vehicle. Grab the sides of the seat where the vehicle seat belt or LATCH/UAS strap is and slide the child restraint side-to-side and front-to-back. If the seat moves less than 1 in. (2.5 cm), it is tight enough.

Secure harness snug and flat on your child.

Rear-Facing: Harness straps MUST be at or just below the child’s shoulders. Top of head must be 1.5 in. (3.8 cm) below the top of the car seat shell.

According to accident statistics, children are safer when properly restrained in the rear seating positions than in the front seating positions.

ALWAYS install this child restraint in the back seat. The back seat is the safest place for children 12 and under. See your vehicle owner’s manual for child restraint installations and instructions.

The safest seating position is one that works best for your specific child restraint, family and vehicle model.

Before installing this child restraint you must determine the method of installation and the best vehicle seating position for that method. This child restraint can be installed either using LATCH/UAS or the Vehicle Seat Belt. DO NOT install using both methods at the same time.

When determining whether the child restraint can be used with vehicle LATCH/UAS anchors in the rear center seating position, it is critical that you refer to your vehicle owner’s instruction book. If the child restraint does not install best in the rear center seating location, it is recommended to move to one of the outboard seating positions.

If any of the belt types listed below are in the chosen seating position, you MUST choose another seating position or use LATCH/UAS if available. Most vehicles manufactured after September 1, 2002 are equipped with: U.S.: LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) Canada: UAS (Universal Anchorage System)

Check your vehicle owner’s instruction manual to determine LATCH/UAS lower anchor compatible seating positions. Some vehicles owner’s manuals use the term “ISOFIX” instead; LATCH/UAS can also be used in vehicle seating positions that are equipped with ISOFIX. Look for the LATCH/UAS symbol that may be visible by the crease of the rear seats.

WARNING: DO NOT USE the LATCH/UAS strap to attach this child restraint rear-facing when restraining a child weighing over 35 lb (15.8 kg) or forward-facing when restraining a child weighing over 40 lb (18 kg). Install using the vehicle seat belt.

To remove, press release buttons and pull top end outwards to remove top section. Gently detach base lower hooks from seat bottom.

WARNING: Make sure the vehicle seat belt can properly retract before each use.

DO NOT use adjustable bottom. DO NOT use anti-rebound bar. ALWAYS secure the child restraint using the vehicle belt or LATCH/UAS connectors even when it is unoccupied. It could injure other occupants in a sudden stop or collision. NOTE: If 5-Point harness is installed, please review the harness removal section. The 5-Point harness MUST be removed to use this seat in booster mode.

Diono LLC and Diono Ltd and Diono GmbH warrants its products (car seats, strollers, baby carriers and accessories) to the original retail purchaser as follows: Diono warrants to the original consumer purchaser that this product (car seats, strollers, baby carriers, and accessories) will be free from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase (the “Warranty Period”). During the Warranty Period, Diono will, at its option, repair or replace the product if it is found by the manufacturer to be defective in material or workmanship. Diono reserves the right to discontinue or change: parts, fabrics, models, or products, or to substitute the product with a comparable model or product. EXTENDED WARRANTY ON 2020 MODEL YEAR ONWARDS STROLLERS AND CAR SEATS Diono LLC and Diono Ltd warrants ONLY to the original consumer purchaser and only if this product was purchased (new and unused in an unopened box) from diono.com, and who has fully registered their product online at diono.com within two (2) months of purchase, that this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship for an additional two

(2) years (the “Extended Warranty Period”) after the standard one (1) year warranty period has expired. The complimentary extended warranty applies only in the USA, the UK and Deutschland. An original receipt is required to validate your warranty. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the original consumer purchaser. During the Extended Warranty Period, Diono will, at its option, repair or replace the product if it is found by the manufacturer to be defective in material or workmanship. Diono reserves the right to discontinue or change:

It is expressly agreed that the obligations of Diono and the original consumer purchaser’s remedies under the limited warranty contained herein are exclusive and are strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the product. This limited warranty is conditional upon strict compliance with the provisions of the product instruction manual. In no event will Diono be liable to you for any damages, including incidental or consequential damages, arising out of the use or inability to use the product. Excluded from the additional warranty are any Nuna, or other branded car seats sold at diono.com. See additional Warranty Limitations listed above for further details.

LIMITATION OF DAMAGES The warranty and remedies as set forth above are exclusive and in lieu of all others, oral or written, express or implied. In no event will Diono or the retailer selling Diono products, be liable for any damages, including incidental or consequential damages, arising out of the use or inability to use this product.

LIMITATIONS OF WARRANTIES AND OTHER WARRANTY TERMS AND STATE LAWS Any implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, shall be limited to the duration and terms of the express written warranty.

USA: Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights, which vary from state to state. REFUNDS AND RETURNS Diono LLC Diono Ltd, and Diono GmbH reserves the right to issue refunds in its sole discretion. All refund offers expire 35 days after the issuance of a shipping label by Diono. Diono will only receive returns that have a valid “Return Authorization Number” clearly visible on the return label provided. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the original consumer purchaser. All other returns will be refused.
