What personal protective equipment (PPE) must phlebotomists wear during sample collection?

Phlebotomists must wear gloves, face mask, and lab coat before approaching the patient, and take standard precautions against potentially infectious material to limit the spread of infectious disease. For special cases like collection of Throat/Nasal swabs in Swine flu patients, a special collection kit must be worn prior to sample collection. Donning and doffing of PPE for SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 tests must be strictly followed. (Page 9)
