Status Cool On (flashing) or Heat On (flashing)

Compressor protection feature is engaged — the system is waiting a safe amount of time before restarting the compressor after shutdown.

? What Causes This

Compressor was recently shut down. The thermostat's built-in compressor protection prevents damage by forcing a wait period before restart.

Wait 5 minutes for the safe restart time to elapse.
During this time, the display will flash 'Cool On' or 'Heat On'.
Once the safe wait time has elapsed, the message stops flashing and the compressor turns on automatically.
