What should I do if my baby was born prematurely or has low birth weight?

Before using this car seat for preterm or low birth weight infants, you must ensure the Child Requirements are met. Evenflo requires that an evaluation recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics be conducted for all infants born earlier than 37 weeks and all newborn infants weighing less than 5 pounds at birth before their first car trip. The AAP recommends that hospital staff observe your infant in the car seat for 90 to 120 minutes or the duration of travel, whichever is longer. (Page 5)
