How do I properly position and lock the Lid on the Pressure Cooker?

Pull the Upper Handles apart to hold open the Self-Locking Grips, place the Lid on top of the Removable Cooking Pot, and then release the Upper Handles so the Self-Locking Grips close onto the rim of the Removable Cooking Pot. When cooking under pressure, slide the Safety Lock to the LOCK position and turn the Pressure Regulator Knob to PRESSURE. (Page 10)
