What should I do before using the Pressure Cooker for the first time?

Before first use, wash the Removable Cooking Pot with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Wash the Self-Locking Lid and Rubber Gasket with a damp sponge and warm soapy water. Then fill the pot two-thirds full with water and run on HIGH PRESSURE for 15 minutes to ensure the Rubber Gasket is seated properly, wait 15 minutes, release pressure using the Quick Steam Release Button, and let cool to room temperature before emptying.
