How often should I check and clean the dust filter?

The dust filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the dust filter can build up and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils. The unit's LED indicator will also illuminate after 250 hours of operation as a reminder to clean the filter. (Page 20)
