How do I remove hard water spots and film from the dishwasher interior?

Load clean dishes and glasses normally without any metal utensils or silverware, and do not add detergent. Select the NORMAL WASH cycle, press START/CANCEL, and after approximately 8 minutes when the second water fill begins, open the door and pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher, then close the door and allow the cycle to finish.
