Water entering the dishwasher should be at least 120°F (49°C) to give satisfactory results. You can check the temperature by running the hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher for several minutes to clear cool water from pipes, then holding a candy or meat thermometer in the water stream. If the temperature is below 120°F, have a qualified person raise the hot water heater thermostat setting.
