How do I defrost the freezer compartment?

Defrost whenever frost on the wall of the ice tray compartment becomes 1/4 inch thick. Remove foods and ice trays, set the temperature control dial to OFF, and place a pan beneath the compartment to collect water if your model does not have a drip tray. Never use a sharp or metallic instrument to remove frost, as it may damage the cooling coils and void the warranty — use a plastic scraper instead. (Page 6)
