How do I replace the light bulb in my GE GDE Series GDE03GGK refrigerator?

Unplug the refrigerator before replacing a burned-out lamp to avoid electrical shock. Carefully remove the light shield by pushing from the bottom of the temperature control housing, unscrew the old lamp and install a new one with the same or lower wattage. Make sure the controls are not set to OFF as this does not turn off power to the light circuit.
