What electrical requirements does the refrigerator need for proper installation?

The refrigerator requires a 115 Volt AC, 60 Hz, 15- or 20-amp fused, grounded electrical supply. It should always be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet with a voltage rating that matches the rating plate, using a grounded 3-prong outlet. The use of an extension cord is strongly discouraged, but if one must be used, it must be a UL-listed or CSA certified 3-wire grounding type rated at 15 amperes minimum and 120 volts. (Pages 3, 8)
