Why does my refrigerator vibrate or rattle, and how do I fix it?

Vibration or rattling is usually caused by the front leveling legs needing adjustment or the refrigerator sitting on an uneven surface. Adjust the leveling legs by turning them counterclockwise to raise the refrigerator and clockwise to lower it, so it sits firmly on the floor. If the surface is uneven, use shims to level the refrigerator.
