What is the proper way to clean the broiler pan and grid?

After broiling, remove the broiler pan from the oven and remove the grid from the pan. Pour grease into a proper container, then wash and rinse the pan and grid in hot water with a soap-filled or plastic scouring pad. If food is burned on, sprinkle with detergent while hot and cover with wet paper towels. Both the pan and grid may be cleaned with commercial oven cleaner or in a dishwasher. Do not store a soiled broiler pan and grid in the oven.
