How do I clean an air gap if my dishwasher isn't draining well?
Turn off the dishwasher and lift off the chrome cover, then unscrew the plastic cap and clean it with a toothpick. An air gap protects your dishwasher against water backing up if a drain clogs, though not all plumbing codes require them. (Page 17)
