How do I clean white film or mineral deposits from the inside of my dishwasher?

White film on the interior is caused by hard water minerals. To clean it, apply dishwasher detergent to a damp sponge while wearing rubber gloves, and do not use any other type of cleanser as it may cause foaming or sudsing. Cascade Automatic Dishwashing Detergent has been approved for use in all GE dishwashers. (Page 23)
