Is it safe to stop the dishwasher mid-cycle to add a forgotten dish?

Yes, a forgotten dish can be added any time before the main wash begins. To do so, push the door latch to the left, wait for the water to calm, open the door cautiously as steam may rise out, add the forgotten dish, then close the door and push the latch to the far right to resume the cycle. However, you should not interrupt the cycle during or after the main wash, as this will prevent the Sanitized light from illuminating at the end. (Page 13)
