How do I add a forgotten dish during a wash cycle?

A forgotten dish can be added any time before the main wash. Push the door latch to the left, and once the water calms, open the door (steam may rise out). Add the forgotten dishes, then close the door and push the latch to the far right to resume the cycle. (Page 13)
