What should I do if my dishwasher won't drain before the winter season?

If your dishwasher is left in an unheated place during winter, a service technician should: cut off electric power by removing fuses or tripping the circuit breaker, turn off the water supply, disconnect the water inlet line from the water valve, drain water from the inlet line and water valve using a pan, reconnect the water inlet line, and remove the plastic pump cover in the tub bottom to use a sponge to soak up water in the rubber boot.
