Why is there suds in my dishwasher tub and how do I fix it?
Suds are caused by using a non-automatic-dishwasher detergent — only automatic dishwasher detergents should be used. To remove existing suds, open the dishwasher and let suds evaporate, then add 1 gallon of cold water to the tub, close and latch the door, and pump out the water by slowly turning the control dial until a drain period is reached. Spilling rinse agent can also cause foam and potential overflowing, so wipe up any accidental spills with a damp cloth.
