What type of ductwork should be used for the dryer exhaust?

Only rigid metal or flexible metal 4" diameter ductwork should be used inside the dryer cabinet or for exhausting to the outside. Plastic or other combustible ductwork can cause a fire, and punctured ductwork can also cause a fire if it collapses or becomes restricted.
