How should I use the fabric softener dispenser?

Make sure the dispenser is securely attached to the agitator and use only liquid fabric softener. Pour the recommended amount into the dispenser and add water until it reaches the maximum fill line. Never pour fabric softener directly on clothes as it may stain them. Do not stop the washer during the first spin, as this will cause the dispenser to empty too soon. (Page 8)
