How do I clean the fabric softener dispenser?

Remove the dispenser from the agitator and separate the dispenser cup from the cover by pushing down on the inside of the cup until it pops free. Soak both the cup and cover in a solution of 1 US gallon (3.8 liters) warm water, 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy duty liquid detergent, and 1 cup (240 ml) bleach, then loosen any build-up with a clean, soft cloth — do not use a stiff brush as it may roughen the surface. Rinse, reassemble, and place the dispenser back on the agitator. (Page 11)
