What should I do if the shoulder belt does not lie properly across my child's shoulders?

If the shoulder belt lies outside the red zone (where it should cross your child's shoulders), you must use the shoulder belt positioning clip. Attach the clip to the horizontal bar in the center of the base by inserting the loop end of the strap around the horizontal bar on the rear of the seat. Pass the clip and strap through the loop end and pull the strap up, then slide the vehicle shoulder belt onto the clip and pull the strap down to tighten the clip against your child's shoulder.
