How do I install the infant restraint using only the car seat without the base?

To install without the base, place the infant restraint in a rear-facing position, thread the lap belt or lower portion of LATCH through both hooks, buckle securely and tighten by pulling hard while pressing down on the seat. Ensure that the red level line is flush with the ground (Page 38).
