What should I do if the display won't turn on?

Set the system switch to OFF and remove the batteries. Insert them backward for at least five seconds to reset the thermostat, then replace them correctly—the display should come on. Make sure batteries are fresh and installed correctly, and gently clean battery contacts using a soft pencil eraser (do not use anything abrasive).
